Resolved Question: Good cities in England for student?

Hi, I am moving to England in the summer and need help finding the perfect city for me. I currently live in the US, but I am an EU citizen therefore it'll be easy for me to move. I need a city where I can go to school for nursing (I am not sure if I have enough qualifications to attend an University so I'm looking at colleges too, but honestly I'm a bit confused with the schooling system). So far I have been looking at Hull, Manchester, and Southampton. I need a place where living costs aren't too high considering that I will be a student and working to support myself with some help from my parents. Obviously I can't afford to live in London, although that would be my dream. Also, are Brits friendly with Americans?
